You may know this already, but tuition alone only covers about 85% of the expenses at an independent school like The Waldorf School of Philadelphia. Therefore, donations to our Annual Fund are very important to build a bridge between our income and expenses that allow our school community to thrive. Here’s what one parent told us about why she and her family choose to donate to The Waldorf School of Philadelphia’s Annual Fund.
“As each year progresses and I see the wonderful growth in our sons, I am increasingly confident in our choice to send them to the WSP. After we pay the tuition, we continue to give because the education is amazing and the faculty is dedicated beyond my assumption. When I hear that a grades teacher is preparing every single night for their science block the next morning, I remember the many after school hours of dedication that might go unnoticed. Our grades teacher consistently impresses us with her delight and focus on the children. I am reminded daily that my sons are living each day in a unique school of learning; planting their roots to grow.
When I give to the Annual Fund, I feel that I am recognizing this amazing behind-the-scene effort that takes place at the school. I can’t always give a lot, but it is my way of giving back to the school that gives so much to our family. I believe when parents and friends of the school come together and show support by donating money to the school, we are reciprocating the dedication of the school’s faculty and administration – individuals who care so much for our children”. - Kirsten Carangi is parent to two WSP students, an architect and a member of the Board of Trustees.
